I have an article in today’s Tribune about the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s decision to cancel all one-day hazardous waste collections throughout the state due to budget constraints. This leaves a lot of residents in the Chicago area without a convenient way to rid their homes of hazardous waste, including lawn chemicals, medications, fluorescent light bulbs and gasoline. Some of this waste could end up causing environmental damage if not disposed of properly. Read the article here. Again, please note, the Tribune doesn’t keep online links up forever, so it may expire after some time.
